TS-50S restoration start

My Kenwood TS-50S has been having no audio and transmission issues lately so I've taken on the project of re capping and restoring the radio. I purchased a kit from HiFiAudio on eBay and have started with the main board.

Fishing trip to Shimi Falls

 Andon and I took a trip to Shimi Falls for some walleye and pike fishing . We did the 1.5 km hike with good time and encountered very little snow, lot's of moose tracks and a red colored american toad .

We reached the falls and they were up a lot more than usual do to the amount of snow that melted this spring.

Upper picture is from 2026 bottom 2025. We fished for a few hours but only caught 2 small pike. However I brought my Baofeng DM-32C handheld and made three contacts on the repeater VE3YTL, VE3DPZ and VA3GTS despite being 15 kms away and in a low valley.

Honestly it was just nice to get out.
